In the film I refer to studies of Professor Kjell Hansson-Mild from the middle of the 1990s, which demonstrated that EHS have a more sensitive nervous system than healthy people. This research is a clue to the neurological damage that EHS clearly got by the radiation. (Kjell Hansson-Mild has since then become a representative of the mobile industry and makes measurements of WiFi in schools with such a low sensitivity that measurement values are almost zero)
People who became damaged of computer radiation in the 1990s, usually got a sensitivity for all types of electric fields and this is very likely due to the fact that radiation from the computers contained all frequencies. The microwave spectrum may be of crucial importance for the damage.
It is known since 1978 that microwaves have an antenna effect on the nervous system and blood vessels, therefore should the studies made by Kjell Hansson Mild et al. have led to a deepened investigation on the damage EHS have received on the nervous system. That this research was put aside is certainly linked to the fact that the expansion of the mobile systems had to continue. Because of the military use of radar systems there existed a  knowledge about how dangerous microwaves are. If they not had known about the risks of microwaves they likely had deepened the studies that indicated that EHS have received a radiation injury that caused a more sensitive nervous system.

Instead they chose to silence the radiation damage EHS got, by denying that people are getting sick of the new technology of electromagnetic radiation. Instead, they have continued with challenge studies whose methodology cannot be claimed to be scientific since serious sources of error disturb the results. These challenge studies have even gone so far that they claim that high-intensity mobile users which got warm ears of the mobile, are EHS.

Autonoma nervsystemet

Forskarna vid Arbetslivsinstitutet har också studerat hur elkänsliga reagerar på ljudpulser, olika mentala test, fysisk belastning med mera. Sammantaget visar försöken att elkänsliga reagerar starkare på dessa faktorer. En slutsats av att de elkänsliga reagerar starkare än andra på yttre påverkansfaktorer är att deras autonoma nervsystem är mer känsligt för påverkan. Det autonoma nervsystemet är kopplat till regleringen av hjärtrytm, blodtryck, kroppstemperatur, mag-tarmfunktion med mera. Tidigare studier som vi och andra grupper genomfört indikerar att den del av nervsystemet som vi kallar det autonoma skiljer sig från den hos besvärsfria personer, berättar Monica Sandström och fortsätter:

När vi följde elkänsligas hjärtrytm under ett dygn, kunde vi visa på en obalans i autonoma nervsystemet. Den förväntade ökningen av parasympatisk aktivitet (se faktaruta)under natten är reducerad.
Det betyder att återhämtningen – som kroppen behöver under natten – är lägre hos elkänsliga jämfört med hos icke elkänsliga.
